Recent major breaches of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) have shaken the foundations of the Australian and New Zealand cyber landscape. CISOs are now having to present to their boards on not only the security of their data, but the ability for their organisations to recover.

Our State of Ransomware Readiness, ANZ 2022 report gauges the confidence of information security professionals across Australia and New Zealand, and examines their readiness to respond to and quickly recover from ransomware attacks.

Key findings include:

  • 84% of cybersecurity professionals surveyed expect disruptions ranging between ‘moderate’ and ‘significant’ if they were to suffer a ransomware attack
  • 33% of respondents say they or their colleagues have responded to a ransomware attack in the last 12 months
  • 32% of respondents either do not follow or do not know the 3-2-1 backup best practice.
